The admissions process includes student and parent interviews, previous two years’ transcripts, a handwritten essay by the student and a personal recommendation. Financial aid is available, and grants are made on the basis of need once a child has been accepted. Parents may also choose from a variety of payment plans.

Stephen Keith Sagarin , PhD, Faculty Chair; history, math, English, has his doctorate in U.S. History from Columbia University and his BA in Art History and Fine Art from Princeton University. He is a graduate of the Waldorf School of Garden City, NY, where he taught for 11 years before moving to Massachusetts. He is Associate Professor and Director of Independent Projects in Waldorf Teacher Education at Sunbridge College, NY, and editor of the Research Bulletin of the Research Institute for Waldorf Education. He has taught history of education at Teachers College, Columbia University, and he has taught developmental psychology at the City University of New York (CUNY) Years with GBWHS: 6

Renni Greenberg Gallagher, educational support teacher, dance, enrollment coordinator, studied Special Education at CCNY and earned her BA in Creative Arts in Education from Empire State College, SUNY. She completed her training in Therapeutic Education with the Gradalis Program in 2006, and is currently working toward her Master’s in Waldorf Remedial Education through Touro University. In addition to educational support work, she is a dancer and choreographer who has taught for the Merce Cunningham Studio and in colleges in the U.S. and Europe. Years with GBWHS: 6

Elizabeth Lombardi, fine arts, has a BA from Oberlin College with a major in fine arts and an art teacher's certificate from Adelphi University. She has been a Waldorf teacher for more than 30 years as well as a teacher of adults. Mrs. Lombardi has taught at the Waldorf Institute for Liberal Education, Garden City, NY. She teaches in the Foundation Studies Program of the Waldorf School of Princeton, NJ. Years with GBWHS: 2

Julia Nunez, Spanish, earned her BA in French, with a minor in Spanish, from Wichita State University, Kansas. She did graduate work in French at Middlebury College and in Spanish at Hunter College, and has studied in Morelia, Mexico. She received her Waldorf teacher training certification from Emerson College, England. Years with GBWHS: 6

Robert Oelhaf, PhD, math, science, has his doctorate from the University of Maryland in economics, where he also taught. He graduated from Carleton College in math, has an MA in physics from Columbia University and an MA in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary. He was a founding teacher of the Hawthorne Valley High School and has taught at Kimberton and Flensburg Waldorf schools. He has also taught business and technical English at Flensburg University. Years with GBWHS: 1

Krista Palmer, physical education, earned her BA in Physical Education from Wittenberg University, OH, and has her certificate from the Spatial Dynamics Institute. She was previously Athletic Director at the Kimberton Waldorf School, PA, and is a graduate of the Waldorf School of Garden City, NY. Years with GBWHS: 6

Beth Robbins, English, history. After receiving her Waldorf teaching certificate from Antioch NE, Beth was a class teacher at Hawthorne Valley School in Harlemville, NY. She has worked at SteinerBooks/Anthroposophic Press as an editor. She has a BA in English from Barnard College, Columbia University. Years with GBWHS: 3

Ursula Wirth, German, is a graduate of the Munich Rudolf Steiner School. She worked as a librarian and research assistant at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she also taught German for Siemens, Ltd. She has also worked as a German and English language tutor in Munich. Years with GBWHS: 6
